You may take a moment to have a look at the most Frequently Asked Questions that we are faced with.
Yes, certainly. There is nothing to be scared about. Be assured that by amazing latest & modern procedures, there is no need for an open cut on the abdomen in order to remove the uterus. The entire surgery is done through tiny 0.5-1cm. key holes. By this process entire tumours, cysts and uterus can be removed. This is called "Keyhole" or Laparoscopic Surgery.
Don't be worried! By laparoscopic, minimally invasive surgery, even large cysts can be removed through small holes and the ovary is also saved for future child-bearing. There is minimal discomfort and she shall be discharged the same day - evening. There is no longer any need of open surgery.
No, there is no need to remove the uterus by operation. By Balloon Treatment, a balloon is inserted into the uterus, heat applied through it to shrink the inner lining of uterus. The patient is discharged in a few hours. Alternatively, progesterone device (Mirena) can be placed in the uterus for 7 years.
No need of an operation now. She needs an Ultra-sonography (USG) of uterus and ovaries. Then with a hysteroscope, the inside of the uterus is viewed to rule out malignancy, polyp or uterine atrophy.
Even when Ultra-sonography (USG) shows no abnormality, chronic lower abdominal pain is caused by endometriosis, pelvic veneous congestion, infection, adhesion etc. The best procedure to detect the cause is by laparoscopy, because treatment is done in the same sitting.
